A New Standard for Piercers
After getting a piercing, it’s important to care for it . A new piercing can be a fun addition to your personal style. However, without the right care, you can experience complications after any new procedure, like an infection or your piercing closing. The first step to caring for your piercing is choosing a qualified piercer. Choose an experienced piercer in a licensed studio.Once you have your new piercing keep it looking and feeling good by following these aftercare tips from board-certified dermatologists. 1. Leave your jewelry in your new piercing for 6 weeks or more.2. Keep it cleanAlways wash hands before touching newly pierced area. This helps prevent infection.Gently wash your piercings with a mild- fragrance free cleanser and water at least once a day. This too, helps prevent infection.Thoroughly rinse your piercings after washing them. You want to rinse away the soap and any crusty debris or build up that is now disconnected from the skinAvoid cleaning your piercings with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol.Use aftercare recommended by your professional piercer.3. Moving or rotating jewelry is not necessary during cleaning/ rinsing and may irritate the piercing. 4. Keep an eye on your new piercing. If the skin around your piercing gets sore, red or puffy or it has yellowish liquid, you might have an infection. If any of those don’t go away quickly, get in touch with your piercer and a doctor. Piercings get sensitive and swell /get red for a day or two so please be patient with the process. If the skin around your piercing becomes raised, you might be getting an irritation bump or a scar called a keloid. Please get advice and ask any questions you may have to your professional piercer .5. Avoid all oral contact , rough play and contact with others’ bodily fluids on or near your piercing during healing.6. Avoid submerging the piercings in bodies of water such as lakes, pools, oceans, hot tubs, tubs etc. 7. Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around your piercing including cosmetics, lotions, fragrances etc8. For oral piercings, avoid acidic and spicy foods . Noodles can wrap around your new tongue piercing. Avoid smoking as much as possible as well as hot food and coffee. Try to eat soft food for the first few days. Cold water will help with swelling. If you smoke or drink, wash mouth immediately after to clean bacteria and use an alcohol free mouthwash.Avoid playing with the jewelry like biting , sucking and rotating. We provide a clean environment and modern safety standards, as well as experienced and professional employees who turn something painful into an enjoyable experience. We’ll help each client achieve the body art of their dreams.We ask for the same respect in return. In order to protect our business from lost time this cancellation policy is effective for all clients. We ask that you please reschedule or cancel ,at least, 48 hrs before your appointment. We understand that emergencies happen and we can show leniency depending on the situation. All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. You are able to change your appointment once, 48 hrs before your scheduled time and your deposit will transfer to the next date. If you request to change your appointment a second time in a row, you will forfeit your deposit and you will have to pay a new deposit to book again. In the event of a last minute cancellation or no-show, you will be charged for at least one hr and it will be pulled out of the card you have on file.
